The next morning, Sharda performed the puja by ringing the bell and singing hymns. Nandini and Khushi were sleeping in their room.
Sharda finished the puja and went to their room to wake them up.
"Khushi uth jaa beta subha ho gayi hai" Sharda shook Khushi to wake her up, her voice soft and calm.
"kya hai Maa?, aap ko or koi kaam nahi hain jo roz subha-subha aa jaati ho, pareshaan karne" Khushi said in a sleepy voice.
"aacha beta tujhe school nahi jaana hain kya?" Sharda uncovered her blanket, grabbed her arm, helped her sit up, and placed a hand on her back. "jo aise maje se so rahi hain"
"maa, kya aap bhi, itni chinta to mujhe apni padhai ki nahi hain jitni aapko hain" She leaned her head on Sharda's stomach, said, still in sleepy voice.
Sharda smiled, placing her hand on Khushi's shoulder and kissed on her head.
"jaa jaldi se nah le, mein jaldi se accha sa breakfast bana deti hoon" Sharda said softly.
Khushi got up from the bed, and Sharda started to leave the room.
"dii ko bhi to uthakar jaao, unko to office jaana hain na ya sara torture mere liye hai bas" Khushi said, her voice soft but firm.
Sharda stopped, said firmly "agar kisi ko apne kaam ki fikar hain to kudh uth jaaye"
She left the room.
"ye sahi hain, mujhe to jabardasti uthakar chali gayi, or isse sone diya" Khushi mumbled, as she took the clothes out of the cupboard.
"lekin mere hote hue tum shaanti se kaise so sakti hoon" Khushi gazed at Nandini, said, Her voice was mischievous.
Khushi went to Nandini, laughing, and started pulling at her blanket.
"kya hai?" Nandini screamed in a sleepy voice.
Khushi yanked Nandini's blanket forcefully and went into the bathroom, locking herself inside.
She got up, her hair falling across her face.
"Khushi ki bacchi-" Nandini screamed, "main tujhe chodungi nahi"
She ran her hand through her hair, brushing stray strands of hair from her face, lay down again and closed her eyes.
Sharda was making breakfast in the kitchen. Nandini came into the kitchen and hugged her from behind.
"aap abhi tak naraz ho" She said lovingly.
Sharda pushed her away and started chopping the onions.
"mein hoti hi ko hoon tujhse naraz hone wali" Sharda said, her voice was firm.
"maa sorry na, aage se nahi hoga, aage se kabhi gussa nahi karungi" she said, her voice was soft and calm.
She went closer to Sharda, held her arm, and leaned her head on her shoulder. "Please maaf kar do na" said sweetly, making a puppy face.
"thik hain, lekin pehle tu waada kar" Sharda extended her hand towards Nandini. " ki aage se kabhi iss ghar ko chodkar kahi or rehne ki baat nahi karegi"
"thik hain maa, aage se kabhi apse iss ghar ko chodne ki baat nahi karungi" Nandini placed her hand on Sharda's hand and said in a soft voice.
A smile tugged on Sharda's lips.
She hugged Sharda and said sweetly " I Love You, Maa"
"chal ab jaa taiyaar hoja, office jaana hain na" Sharda placing her hand on her cheek, said softly with a wide smile.
Nandini nodded and left.

In Singhania Mansion
Everyone was sitting at the dining table having breakfast except for Ragini and Arjun. Niharika entered the house and went towards the dining table.
"Good Morning, everyone" Niharika said with a warm smile.
Everyone's attention turned to Niharika, and they all wished her good morning back.
"are Niharika?" Grandma said, Niharika's gaze immediately shifted on grandmother. "aaj subha-subha yaha kaise?" her voice was calm and soft.
"vo Dadi, Ragini auntie ne call kiya tha, unhe koi jaruri kaam tha" Niharika replied soflty.
"aao na humare saath baithkar breakfast karo" Devendra said, his voice was soft.
Ayush added, holding a bite in his hand "haan aao na , parathe bohot aache bane hain"
"thank you Ayush, but main already breakfast karke aayi hoon" Niharika said, his voice was polite. "Ragini auntie kaha hain?" Niharika asked.
"vo beta apne room mein hain" Devendra replied her.
"mein unse milkar aati hoon" Niharika said, she smiled and left from there.
Niharika went towards Ragini's room. She gently opened the door. "Ragini Auntie?"
Ragini was standing with her back to her. Niharika entered the room.
"Ragini Auntie, apne subha-subha call karke mujhe yaha kyo bulaya, is everything alright?" Niharika asked, her voice was soft and calm.
Ragini turned towards Niharika, Her eyes were filled with anger with a serious expression on her face.
"Niharika? humare sawaal ka sidhe-sidhe jawab dena, tum Arjun se shaadi karna chahti ho ya nahi?" Ragini asked, her voice was sharp.
"of course aunty, I will, I love Arjun, or usse pane ke liye mein kisi bhi had tak jaa sakti hoon" Niharika said, there was a certainiy in his voice.
A smile tugged on her lips.
Ragini cupped Niharika's cheeks and said "hume tumse issi jawab ki umeed thi " her voice was soft. Ragini seemed satisfied with Niharika's answer.
"lekin tumhe jaldi hi kuch karna hoga, uss ladki Nandini ne apna khel shuru kar diya hain" Ragini said, her voice was firm.
Niharika frowned. "matlab? konsa khel? kya kiya hain usne?"
"vo sab chodo, tum bas Arjun par dhyan do" Ragini said, placing his hand on Niharika's arm," uss ladki ko to hum sambhal lenge" her voice was firm.
Arjun was standing in front of the mirror in his room, buttoning up his shirt.
A gentle knock at the door pulled his attention. "Arjun.... main hoon, Niharika" Niharika voice called from the other side.
Arjun buttoned up his shirt completely and opened the door. Niharika entered the room.
"Aaj subha-subha yaha kaise?" he asked, his voice was soft.
He stood in front of the mirror and started styling his hair.
"kaise matlab?" Niharika sat on his bed and gaze at him " tumse milne aayi hoon , party ke baad hum mil hi nahi paye" Niharika said in a soft voice " lekin lagta hain tum kahi jaa rahe ho?" Niharika glanced sideways at Arjun's suit.
His gaze shifted to Niharika for a moment, "haan, office jaa raha hoon" he replied softly.
He looked at the mirror again. He picked up the watch from there and put it on.
"Accha...to mein bhi tumhare saath chalti hoon, waise bhi main tumhare office jaane hi wali thi" Niharika said.
"kyu?...tumhe koi kaam tha?" he asked while putting the suit, confusion in his voice.
"haan vo...dad or uncle milkar jo naya hotel shuru karna chahte hain...ussi se related kuch discuss karna tha or phir hum saath mein lunch bhi kar lenge" Niharika said, getting up and walking towards Arjun.
"thik hain" he glanced at Niharika with a smile and nodded his head.
"to.... tum ready hokar niche aa jao, mein niche tumhara wait kar rahi hoon" Niharika said, her voice soft and calm.
He nodded.
Everyone had finished their breakfast, and they were all sitting on the sofas in the hall, laughing and joking.
Devendra stood up and said, "chaliye maa, hum sab nikalte hain"
"Ayush?" Devendra gazed at Ayush. Ayush immediately turned his gaze to Devendra. "jao Arjun ko bulakar le aao".
Ayush stood up and started to leave. Just then, Niharika's voice came from behind; she was coming down the stairs. "uncle vo ready hokar aa raha hain". Ayush sat down again.
Niharika went and stood next to Ragini. "kya hua?" Ragini whispered in Niharika's ear.
"main or Arjun saath office jaa rahe hain or uske baad lunch pe" Niharika whispered back in her ear.
"Are Ragini bahu?" Grandama said, Ragini gaze turned towards her " kal ki pooja ke liye sabhi rishtedaro ko invite kiya ya nahi?" her voice soft, a gentle smile on her face.
"maaji, aap bilkul chinta mat kijiye, humne sabko invite kar diya" Ragini said excitedly with a wide smile.
"konsi....pooja?" Niharika asked curiously.
"kal humne ghar mein grahshanti ki pooja rakhi hain na" Ragini answered her "hum Mamta ji ko aaj call karne hi wale the invite karne ke liye, tum jaroor aana"
Niharika nodded. "jii bilkul auntie, main jaroor aaungi"
Arjun came down the stairs and went to Devendra.
Devendra placed his hand on Arjun's shoulder and looked at him proudly. "to....taiyaar ho na Singhania Group of Hotels ko nayi uchaiyon tak pahuchane ke liye"
Gautam made a frowning face.
Arjun Nodded. "yes dad" a gentle smile playing on his lips.
Devendra hugged Arjun proudly.
He broke the hug. "chalo ab chalte hain"
They started to leave, and Gautam also started to go with them, but Devendra stopped him with a gesture of his hand.
"tum yahi ruko, main nahi chahata aaj ke din company mein koi tamasha ho" his voice was low but firm.
After saying this, Devendra left.
Gautam's face turned red with anger, and he clenched his fists, jaw tightened. Swara was watching him. Gautam went into his room. Swara followed him, but Ragini stopped her and began discussing the preparations for the Grahshanti puja with her.
Arjun and Niharika came out of the house. He was walking slowly, his gaze fixed on Nandini's house; he was waiting for Nandini to come out. Niharika got into the car. She saw that Arjun was still standing outside.
"Arjun?" he shifted his gaze to Niharika. "kya hua?, chalo"
"haan" Arjun nodded. His gaze still fixed on Nandini's house.
But Nandini didn't come, Arjun got into the car.

Nandini was quickly putting on her earrings. She was wearing a white kurta and blue jeans. She picked up her phone, grabbed her purse, and was about to leave. Her mother stopped her for breakfast, but she refused and left.
Arjun started the car, Nandini was coming out in a hurry and she saw Ahis car, but, before she could stop him he left.
"thoda wait to kar hi sakta tha" she murmured under her breath.
Devendra came out of the house. Nandini gaze turned to him.
"Good morning, bade papa" she said softly.
"good morning, beta" Devendra placed his hand on her head.
"office jaa rahi ho?" Devendra asked.
She nodded.
"chalo phir saath chalte hain, waise bhi bohot din ho gaye baap-beti ko saath mein office gaye hue" Devendra smiled and said gently.
She smiled. They got into the car, the driver started the car, and they left for the office.

They reached the office. Arjun and Niharika were already there waiting for Devendra. Nandini got out of the car, and her eyes fell on them. She saw that they were talking, laughing and smiling, her jaw tightened, she stared at Arjun angrily.
Devendra and Nandini walked towards them. Arjun's gaze fell on Nandini. They looked at each other. Anger flashed in Niharika's eyes.
"chalo andar chalte hai" Devendra said.
Arjun and Niharika nodded.
They all started going inside. Niharika angrily grabbed Nandini's arm tightly and stopped her.
"ye kya batamizi hai?" Nandini said, her voice was firm.
"Hey you! tumse kaha tha na Arjun se dur rehna, tumhe baat samajh nahi aati hai kya? koi self-respect hain ya nahi tumhari?" Niharika said, her voice raw with anger.
Nandini tried to free her arm from Niharika's grip. "haath chodo mera" she growled.
"last warning hain tumhare liye, stay away from Arjun" Niharika warned her.
Niharika forcefully yanked her arm and walked away. Tears welled up in her eyes.

Devendra and Arjun went into the cabin, which had been specially prepared for Arjun. Rishabh also joined them. Arjun looked around the room, his face lit up with surprise, a wide smile on his lips.
He turned his gaze to Devendra and said "Dad, ye sab..."
Devendra placing his hand around his shoulder "ye cabin tumhare liye ready karwaya hain, yahi, iss chair par baithar tumhe humare business ko or aage leke jaana hain" He glanced at the chair.
He nodded. "jii Dad, mein aapko kabhi disappoint nahi kaurnga"
"chalo mein chalta hoon mujhe kuch kaam hain, agar kisi cheez ki jarurat ho to....."
Rishabh interrupted Devendra in the middle of his sentence. "to main hoon na uncle, don't worry".
Arjun and Devendra gaze shifted to Rishab, they smiled.
Devendra left the cabin. Arjun went and sat down in his chair proudly.
"to bataiye sir, kya order hain mere liye" Rishab asked, his voice was soft.
"baaki sab baadme, sabse pehle mein hotel ka visit karna chahta hoo" Arjun ordered him.
"thik hain" Rishab nodded.
He also nodded in agreement.
"iske alawa or kuch chahiye? chai, coffee yaaaa....Nandini?" Rishab teased him and gave a mischievous smile.
He glared at him. "tu yaha se bahar jaane ka kya lega? laat, ghoosa yaa thapad?"
Rishab's smile vanished and he walked away without saying a word.
He shook his head.

Nandini reached her desk, angrily took her purse off her shoulder and placed it on the desk, and sat down in her chair. Neha was watching her.
Nandini was recalling the incident from morning.
"jaise maa, waisa beta" she muttered, anger in her voice.
"ye kis maa ke bete....I mean, kis maa-bete ko galliyan de rahi hain" Neha gazed at her and asked curiously.
"kuch nahi yaar chod na" she replied without looking at Neha, her voice was soft but firm.
"are bata na yaar, ab tu mujhse baatein chupayegi" Neha moved her chair closer to her and insisted her.
"nahi, aisa nahi hain, vo...vo" she told Neha everything that happened last night and this morning.
"Accha, to tujhe lagta hain ki Arjun ne Niharika ko kal raat ke baare mein bataya hoga" Neha said
"lagta kya hain, of course ussi ne bataya hoga, main ya Ayush to usse batayenge nahi, or waise bhi aaj dono saath hi to office aaye hain" she said , her voice soft but firm.
"kya baat kar rahi hain?" Neha said, with surprise in her voice.
"haan, dono bada khi-khi-khi karke has rahe the" she said, Her voice was filled with jealousy.
Neha narrowed her brows. "Nandini?", a teasing smile playing on her lips.
"kya hain?" she replied, her voice soft but rude.
"tu jealous hain na?" Neha teasd her.
She quickly replied "haan...." but she stopped in middle of saying it.
"k-kya bakawaas hain.... main kyu jealous hone lagi uss chipkali se.. or waise bhi aisa kya hain usme jo main usse jealous houngi, har waqt muh banake ghumti rehti hain, jab dekho tab attitude dikhati rehti hain" Nandini said, her voice wavering.
"kiski himmat ho gayi meri beti ko attitude dikhane ki?" Devendra came there and asked softly to Nandini.
"Bade papa?" Nandini stood up from her chair.
Neha also stood up. "Good morning, Sir".
Devendra gazed turned to Neha and he nodded with a slight smile.
Then, he turned her gaze back to Nandini and asked "kya hua koi problem hain kya?, kisi ne company mein tumse koi batmeezi ki hain kya?" his voice was soft, filled with concern.
She smiled slightly and replied "nahi, bade papa aisa kuch nahi hain, hum bas aise hi baat kar rahe the"
"dekho Nandini beta" Devendra placed his hand around her shoulder, " maine humesha se tumse ek hi baat kahi hain agar tumhe koi bhi problem ho chahe vo company se related ho ya phir apni personal life se, tum sabse pehle mujhe aakar bataoji, thik hai na?"
Nandini nodded with a slight smile. Devendra placed his hand on her head and left from there.

In Arjun's cabin, Arjun and Rishabh were discussing the company's declining profits when Niharika suddenly entered the cabin without knocking. Arjun or Rishab gaze turned towards her.
"bas kaam bohot gaya Arjun, it's lunch time or tumne aaj saath lunch karne ka promise kiya tha" Niharika said while looking at Arjun.
"itni si tameez nahi hai ki knock karke aana chahiye" Rishab lowered his gaze and muttered under his breath.
"kuch kaha tumne?" Niharika stared at Rishab and said, firm in her voice.
"nahi to, maine to kuch bhi nahi kaha" Rishab looked at Niharika and said.
"I am Sorry Niharika, lekin aaj bahar jakar lunch karna possible nahi hain, mujhe important kaam hain" Arjun politely refused her.
"but, tumne promise kiya tha, Arjun" Niharika said, her voice was soft.
"I know but...."
Niharika interrupted. "accha thik hain, kahi bahar nahi yaha company cafeteria mein to lunch kar sakte hain na, yaha to koi problem nahi hain na?"
Arjun paused for a few seconds to think.
"chala ja na Arjun" his thoughts interrupted by Rishab, said with smirked.
"warna ye aise hi dimaag khati rahegi" Rishab thought.
"okk" Arjun said softly, got up from his chair and left with Niharika.
It was lunchtime, and all the employees were enjoying their lunch in the cafeteria. Arjun and Niharika were also in the cafeteria, laughing and smiling, reminiscing about their memories of London while enjoying their pasta and latte macchiato.
Nandini and Neha entered the cafeteria, Nandini' eyes fell on them, she stopped and glared at Arjun. Anger was clearly visible in her eyes. Jealousy was visible on her face.
"jealousy" Neha whispered in Nandini's ear, in a teasing manner.
She shivered slightly and shifted her gaze on Neha "aisa kuch nahi hain" she whispered back, firm in her voice.
She went and sat down at the table. His gaze fell upon her, and lingered there, but she didn't notice. She sat on a chair with her back to Arjun, and Neha sat opposite her. Neha could see Arjun from the front. He kept staring at Nandini continuously.
Neha chuckled and enjoying this moment.
Neha leaned her head against cafe table towards Nandini "vo dekh, tera aashiq tujhe kaise ghoor raha hain" she said in a teasing voice with a playful smile.
"chup-chap khana kha" she whispered, firm in her voice.
"are kam se kam piche mudkar ek smile hi dede bechare ko" Neha said, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Niharika saw Arjun and noticed how he kept staring at Nandini, even though Nandini wasn't paying any attention to him. Anger flashed across her face. She clenched her fist under the table, tightened her jaw, but managed to control herself.
Niharika smiled forcefully and said "Arjun" trying to get his attention.
Arjun stirred "haan" and shifted his gaze at Niharika.
"dhyan kaha hain tumhara?" Niharika said, her voice soft .
"nahi...kahi nahi....tum bolo na kya bol rahi thi?" Arjun replied.
They started talking again. Everyone had their lunch, lunchtime was over, and everyone returned to their work.

Time skip
Evening had fallen, office hours were over, and all the employees had left for home. Neha and Nandini were coming out of the office building, talking to each other.
Arjun was already there, leaning against his car, his hands in his pockets, waiting for Nandini. Neha's gaze fell upon him.
"vo dekh" Neha said, gesturing with her eyes.
Nandini turned her gaze towards Arjun.
"lagta hain tera hi wait kar raha hain" Neha said in a amusing manner.
"chal phir main bhi chalti hoon" Neha said and started to leave, but, she grabbed Neha's arm and stopped her, "rukja, main bhi tere saath hi jaaungi"
"accha" Neha said softly.
Nandini nodded.
Neha spoke quickly, without taking a breath. "tu mere saath jaana chahati hain or vo tere bina jayega nahi, phir tum dono is baat par jhagda karne lagoge or mere pass na bilkul time nahi hain tum logo ki lovey-dovey fight dekhne ka"
She sighed "isliye, mujhe jaane de or tu bhi Arjun ke saath chali jaa" she started to leave.
"are lekin...." Before Nandini could say anything, Neha left from there.
Nandini shifted her gaze to Arjun and started walking towards him. Arjun's gaze fell upon her; he straightened up, took his hands out of his pockets, and opened the car door for her. She got into the car, he closed the car door and went and sat in the driver's seat.
She was looking straight ahead. Suddenly, she caught a strong whiff of his fragrance. She felt his presence closed to her and she slowly turned her gaze towards him. He was very close to her face. She froze, her breath hitched, her heart pounding. Their eyes met and remained locked.
"y-ye k-kya kar rahe ho?" She whispered, her voice was trembling.
He moved closer to her. She tightly closed her eyes and clutched her kurta with her hands.
He fastened her seatbelt, all the while gazing at her face with a slight smile.
He moved away from her. "aankhein khol sakti ho tum"
She furrowed and opened her eyes and looked at the seatbelt, then looked at him, and then she breathed properly. Arjun started the car and they drove off.
"ye kya kiya tune Nandini?, tujhe aankhein band karne ki kya jarurat thi? she thought, with an expression of regret on her face, then she looked at him and thought " Pata nahi ye kya soch raha hoga tere baare mein?"
He noticed her. She quickly looked away.
"kya soch rahi ho? koi problem hain kya?" he asked, keeping his eyes on the road while driving the car.
"tumse se matlab, main kuch bhi sochu, tum car chalane par dhyan do na" she replied without looking at him , her voice was low but rude.
"maine bas ye hi to pucha tha ki tum thik ho ya nahi isme itna rude hone wali kya baat thi?" he said, his voice calm but firm.
She glared at him. "main koi rude nahi ho rahi, rude to vo tha jo tumne subha mere saath kiya".
"maine?" Arjun frowned. "maine kya kiya hain?" his voice filled with surprise.
"ye dekho, kitna bhola ban raha hain, jaise kuch janta hi nahi hain" she thought. She still glared at Arjun.
"kya hua? kuch bologi ya aise hi ghoorti rahogi?" he asked, his voice a little loud and firm.
With a pause, she said "kuch nahi" his tone rude, without any expression on her face, and looked straight ahead.
He frowned, confusion on his face "kya matlab, kuch nahi?", his tone firm.
"kuch nahi matlab kuch nahi" She said, Her voice was sharp and harsh.
"mujhe na tumhari yahi aadat sabse buri lagati hain, agar koi problem hain to bol do na, aise har waqt jhagda karna jaroori hain kya?" he said, his voice laced with frustration.
"main?" she shifted her gaze at him again and screamed " main jhagada kar rahi hoon, main tu chup-chap baithi thi, tum hi ho jisne pehle baat shuru ki"
"tum na....."
"kya tum na?" she cut him off sharply.
"bolo na chup kyo ho gaye? karo na or jhagada karo, bas tum yahi to karte ho jab bhi mein tumhare saath hoti hoon"
"pyaar se khi-khi-khi karne ke liye to hain na koi or" she thought.
He was driving, looking straight ahead, and listening to her without reacting. His gaze shifted towards her for a moment, just as, a motorbike sped past them from the opposite direction.
He quickly slammed on the brakes, and the car screeched to a halt. Their bodies jerked forward. She was frightened, closed her eyes and clutched her seatbelt tightly. He looked at her and quickly unbuckled his seatbelt.
He cupped her cheeks with his hands. "tum, thik ho na?" a worry in his voice.
She opened her eyes and looked at him.
she shook her head.
"I am so sorry, mere wajah se..." He apologized and hugged her affectionately. Seeing her in such a state, he became worried; he was more concerned about her than himself.
"tum kyo sorry bol rahe ho" she said to calm him" galti to uss bike wale ki thi na" her voice comforting him.
She remained silent and didn't react. He slowly pulled away from her, their eyes met and locked onto each other.
He sat up straight in his seat, looked ahead and started the car. He was driving more carefully this time.
She kept looking at Arjun silently , there was a strange sparkle in her eyes. Her anger had completely vanished.
"tum..." she broke her silence " thik ho na?"
He nodded, looked straight ahead, "haan main thik hoon"
He softly added, "bas tumhare liye dar gaya tha"
She looked at him, she paused, then turned her head away, looking outside the window, and smiled slightly.
Time skip
They reached home. Parked the car, and were walking slowly. Grandma, Ayush, Sharda, and Khushi were sitting on the lawn, laughing and joking. Grandma's eyes fell upon them.
"are aa gaye tum log?" Grandma said with a gentle smile. Everyone turned their gaze to look at them. Arjun and Nandini smiled back.
"ye kya baatein chal rahi hain?" he asked, his tone soft.
Sharda replied him. "bas khuli hawa mein bethkar maa ji se unke bachpan ke kisse sun rahe the" her voice calm and soft
Dadi gazed at Nandini "Ooo Madam ji!" she immediately shifted her gaze towarda dadi, "kal aap free hain ya phir kal bhi koi bohot jaroori kaam hain" she spoke with a playful, mocking tone in her voice.
Everyone chuckled.
She shot a glare at Arjun.
"nahi dadi, koi kaam nahi hai" she replied, her tone low and soft.
"to subha pooja ki taiyaari mein madad karwayegi yaa phir khane ke time par hi aayegi" Grandma asked, a mischief in her voice.
"nahi dadi, main aa jaaungi" she replied softly.
"Ooo Thank you!, lekin thoda na jaldi aana, kahi aisa na ho pooja khatam hone ke baad aaye" Grandma said, making fun of her again.
Everyone laughed.
"chaliye, ab hum chalte hain, maa jii" Sharda said gently, and she got up from her chair; Khushi also got up with her.
Grandma agreed with her "haan chalo, hum bhi chalte hain, dinner ka waqt ho gaya" , Grandma also got up from her chair, and Ayush got up with her.
