Nandini was walking quickly towards Arjun. Suddenly, she stumbled and fell onto him. Her hands were on his chest, and his hand was on her waist. They looked into each other's eyes. Her heart was pounding. Her breath caught in her throat.
A small smile curved on his lips.
Suddenly, they heard people's voices. They looked around and quickly moved away from each other. They both felt awkward. she started adjusting her hair, and he ran his hand over the back of his neck.
She looked down and saw that her shoelace was untied. Before she could bend down to tie it, he noticed and bent down to tie her shoelace for her.
"main kar lungi" She pulled her foot back and said softly.
"main kar deta hoon" He grabbed his leg and pulled it forward and said lovingly.
"lekin main....."
He tied her shoelace. Her eyes were still on him.
He stood up.
"Thank you" She said affectionately.
He nodded.
He opened the car door for her. She got into the car. He closed the door and was about to get into the driver's seat. She looked at him through the windshield. He got into the car. She turned her head away.
Almost two hour had passed, and he was still driving.
The road was completely deserted, lined with trees on both sides. It was very dark on the road; there wasn't a single car except for Arjun's, whose headlights illuminated the way. She was looking outside the car through the side mirror.
"ye kis jungle mein restaurant book kiya hain?" She said, Her voice filled with fear.
"tum logo ko or koi restaurant nahi mila kya? she shifted her gaze at him.
"yaha to aisa lag raha hain hum dinner karne nahi kisi ka dinner banne jaa rahe hain"
"or kitna time lagega restaurant pahuchne mein?" She asked desperately.
"location ke hisab se to pahuchne wale hain" He said while driving.
Arjun's phone rang. He saw Ayush's name on the screen, pulled the car over to the side of the road, unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.
"Ayush ka call hain main baat karke aata hoon, tum car mein baithi rehna" he gazed at her and said softly.
He answered the call.
"hello bhai, to kaisa jaa raha hain mera mastermind plan?" Ayush, raised his brow in proud, nodded and asked.
"lagta hain kuch jayada hi maze kar rahe ho tabhi to abhi tak pahunche nahi , aapse pehle to hum log aa gaye" Ayush said in a teasing manner.
"yeh kis jagah restaurant book kiya hain tune, pichle 2 ghante se drive kar raha hoon yeh jungle khatam hone ka naam hi nahi le raha" He said, his voice filled with anger.
"hnn jungle? ye kis jungle mein pahunch gaye aap?" Ayush, a frown creasing his brow, concern in his voice.
Suddenly the call was disconnected.
"hello....hello bhai....call kat gaya" Ayush looked at the phone.
"hello.....hello Ayush...."
He tried to turn on the phone.
"Are yaar battery ko bhi abhi khatam hona tha"
Ayush tried to call Arjun back, but his phone was switched off.
He put his phone in his pocket and got into the car. He tried to start the engine, but it wouldn't start. He tried two or three times, but it still didn't work.
"kya hua?" She asked in a low voice.
"car start nahi ho rahi , ruko mein check karke aata hoon"
He got out of the car and opened the hood to check it.
Nandini also got out of the car. "kya hua?"
"yaha to sab kuch thik hi lag raha hain, phir pata nahi start kyu nahi ho rahi"
He couldn't understand the problem.
"agar service time se nahi karaoge to bechari band hi padegi na" She taunted him.
He responded to her taunt, "to mujhe kya bol rahi ho, main kya London se aata kya iski service karane"
Before she could say anything, He interrupted.
"ladai karna band karo or apna phone do Ayush ko call karke usse dusri car bhejne ke liye bol deta hoon" He extended his hand towards her to take her phone.
"tumhara phone kaha hain?" She said, her voice soft but firm
"mera switched off ho gaya hain, tum itne sawaal kyo kar rahi ho, ek call hi to karna hain konsa tumhara phone check kar raha hoon" He said , his voice calm but firm.
"nahi aisi baat nahi hain, vo....mera phone..... main company mein hi bhul gayi" She lowered her gaze and said with embarrassment.
"aree yaar! seriously?, phone kon bhulta hain?" Arjun said, frustration in his voice
She looked up and glared at him. "mujhpar kyu gussa kar rahe ho tum hi bol rahe the jaldi aao-jaldi aao" a scream in his voice.
"ab isme bhi meri galti nikal rahi ho, ek to apni galti nahi maan rahi or upar se ab argument bhi kar rahi ho " He also gave a sarcastic reply.
"tum choti si baat ke liye itna suna rahe ho or waise bhi , tum mujhe kya bol rahe ho, tumne bhi to apne phone ki battery charge karke nahi rakhi na" She said, her voice was firm or loud.
"tum...."
She stopped him from speaking by showing him her hand.
"dekho jhagda karna band karo or batao aage kya karna hain" She asked, this time her voice low but also firm.
"kya batau, yaha to dur-dur tak jungle ke alawa kuch dikhai nahi de raha, paidal chalte hain kya pata aage jaake koi help mil jaaye"
He looked around on the road and said, his voice was low this time.
"help mil jaaye matlab..., agar help nahi mili to....to hum kya ghar tak paidal chalkar jaayenge, or ghar pahuchne se pehle hi kisi janwar ne hume kha liya to...." She kept talking and talking.
"or iss car ko bhi abhi kharab hona tha" She kicked the car with her foot.
"Ouch..." Her foot hurt. She started to stumble.
She turned around and saw that there was no one behind her. He had moved ahead.
"hey ruko, mujhe chodkar kaha jaa rahe ho?" He ran after him.

Ayush was stressed thinking about Nandini and Arjun. Just then, Gautam came to him.
"ye Arjun abhi tak aaya kyu nahi, hume kya raat bhar yahi thodi rehna hain ghar bhi wapas jaana hain, agar vo aise hi late pahuchega to company kaise sambhalega , ek Ceo ko humesha time ka punctual hona chahiye...." Gautam kept on talking, a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"kya karu bhai ko bata du....nahi-nahi.....lekin agar vo dono kisi problem mein hue to....lekin kya pata vo ghar chale gaye ho to.....abhi wait karna hi thik rahega....haan" Ayush thought.
But his thoughts interrupted by Gautam's voice "are tu kya soch raha hain?call kar na Arjun ko"
"hnn...haan vo mene call kiya tha...vo ghar chale gaye dinner ke liye nahi aa rahe" Ayush replied.
"lekin kyo?" Gautam asked curiously
"vo unhe tabiyat kuch thik nahi lag rahi thi, isliye" Ayush made an excuse.
"ab aaram nahi karega to aisa hi hoga na, kya jaroorat thi usse aaj office jaane ki, abhi-abhi to London se wapas aaya hain or aate hi office jaane lag gaya" Gautam said with a look of displeasure
Swara came out of the restaurant and approached them, asked about Arjun and Nandini. "Arjun bhaiya or Nandini abhi tak aaye nahi kya?" her voice filled with curiosity.
Ayush replied her question "nahi vo nahi aa rahe, bhai ki tabiyat kharab ho gayi"
"kuch serious to nahi hain na?" Swara said, her voice was full of concern
"nahi-nahi bas halka sa fever hua hain" Ayush said, his voice soft and calm.
"chalo, hum sab bhi dinner karke nikalte hain yaha se" Gautam said , his voice was firm
Ayush and Swara nodded. They went inside the restaurant.

Arjun and Nandini were still walking; they hadn't managed to get a lift. She was walking ahead, and he was walking behind her, staring at her. The road was completely deserted. Silence filled between the moment was broken only by gentle and cold breeze.
He broke the silence. "Nandini?"
"hmm?" She replied in hummy voice.
"tumhara locket kaha gaya?" he asked, his voice was low and soft and choked with curiosity.
She stopped suddenly, and he stopped behind her.
He continued."tumne pehan nahi rakha, utarkar kahi rakh diya kya? haan shayad rakh....."
"fek diya" She interrupted him.
She turned around to face him.
"purana ho gaya tha isliye fek diya, ab purani cheezo ko thodi na sambhalkar rakhungi, I hope tumne bhi fek hi diya hoga" She said with a forced smile, her voice was so rude.
He was stunned by her words; felt a sudden pain, his chest heaved, and he fought back the tears welling in his eyes, unable to utter a single word.
He nodded with a forced smile curved his corners of lips.
She turned and started walking away. Arjun watched her go. Her words had pierced his heart. Tears welled up in his eyes. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then started walking.
They walked a little further , suddenly, they heard the sound of an animal. She got scared and ran towards him, hugging him tightly.
He froze, his heart started pounding, his arms remained open, and he couldn't hug her back.
She realized what she had done and she slowly up her gaze and looked at him. He was already gazing at her. That moment was very awkward for her. After a moment, she stepped back.
"vo....tumne kisi..... janwar ke chillane ki awaz suni kya?" Nandini said in a shaky voice.
She heard the animal's sound again.
She, feeling scared, grabbed his arm.
"dekha....suna na tumne" She asked looking at him.
He took her hand in his hand and said, comforting her, "tum dar kyu rahi ho, main hun na tumhare saath, mere hote hue tumhe kuch nahi ho sakta"
She gazed at him, and there was trust in her eyes for him.
"chalo.... chalte hain" He nodded and they started walking.
"Arjun" She called out his name affectionately.
"hmm?" He replied in hummy voice
"mera haath...." She said gently.
"tum phir se mujhse dur na chali jaao isliye pakda hain, ab nahi chodunga" He said humbly, in a low voice.
As soon as he said that, he suddenly stopped. he squeezed his eyes shut, realized what he had just said.
She also stopped behind him, her gaze was fixed on him, trying to understand what he had just said.
He turned towards her. "vo....mera matlab tha ki.....agar maine tumhara haath chod diya to.... tum aage-aage bhagogi or phir se dar jaogi"
She slightly nodded and lowered her gaze. Arjun couldn't meet her eyes. At that moment, a silence between them.
Then they started walking.
It was very late at night. They were still walking. They came across a roadside dhaba. It was named "Raju Da Dhaba".
Her eyes fell upon that roadside dhaba. "hai...vo dekho waha ek dhaba" She pointed her finger towards Dhaba.
"chalo na kuch kha lete hain, bohot bhook lagi hain" She shifted her gaze at him and said, her voice soft and joyful.
She freed her hand from Arjun's grasp and ran towards Dabha. He followed her.
The owner of the Dhaba came to them and welcomed them with his folded hands.
"Oo aao jii aao! Raju Da Dhaba wicch tuhada savagat hai"
The dhaba gave full desi vibes (Very casual, noisy, and bustling, designed for quick service)
They featured charpais (traditional wooden cots woven with jute rope) for seating, allowing guests to sit back and relax.
Table Setup: a low, wooden plank or simple table placed alongside the charpai of a dining surface.
The owner made them sit on a charpai and the waiter handed them the menu.
He reached out to take the menu, but She grabbed it before him.
He gazed at Her in and smirked. Her attention was focused on the menu.
She started placing orders quickly, excitement in her voice. "ek dal fry, ek aloo chole, ek paneer tikka gravy, ek plate paneer pulao, chaar garlic butter naan or.... ek katori bundi raita....bas"
She looked at him and handed the menu to him , "tum kya khaoge?"
"to itna sab tum akele khane wali ho? mujhe laga dono ke liye tumne hi order kar diya" he said, hint of amusement in his voice.
The waiter chuckled.
She shot a glare at waiter, he stopped chuckling.
"sochna bhi mat ki main tumhare saath apna khana share karne wali hoon apna khana khud order kar lo...or waise bhi jitna paidal tumne chalaya hain itna khana to banta hain" She shifted gaze on him, raised her brows and said, firm in her voice.
He took the menu from her hand and placed his order. The waiter took his order and left.
"main washroom hokar aati hoon" she said and stood up.
He nodded in agreement "thik hain, tab tak mein kisi se phone leke Ayush ko inform kar deta hoon , vo hume lene aa jaayega"
She nodded.
He went to the owner and asked him for his phone.
"paa jii ,suniye" He said politely.
"haan jii ?"The owner replied gently.
"vo aapka phone mil sakta hain kya?, mujhe ek call karna hain, mere phone ki battery khatam ho gayi hain" Arjun hesitated but politeness in his voice, asked him for his phone.
Without saying anything, he humbly took his mobile phone out of his pocket and gave it to Arjun. "ye lijiye" with a gentle smile.
"thank you" Arjun said,
"oye koi gal nahi jii, aaram se baat karo" he said enthusiastically

Ayush was pacing anxiously on the lawn outside the house, waiting for Arjun and Nandini.
"are yaar, ye dono abhi tak aaye kyu nahi?" Ayush said, concern in his voice.
Just then, Ayush received a call from an unknown number.
Ayush answered the call. "Hello"
"hello, Ayush" Arjun replied from the other side.
Ayush recognized Arjun's voice. "Bhai?" Hearing his voice, a look of peace came over Ayush's face.
He took a sigh of relief. "thank god, aap log thik ho".
"ho kaha par aap log? or aapka phone kyu switched off aa raha hain?, or Nandini dii bhi call attend nahi kar rahi hain?" Ayush started questioning him, his voice firm but laced with concern
"sab bataunga, pehle tu yaha hume lene aaja, car start nahi ho rahi hain, Nandini bohot thak gayi hain vo aur paidal nahi chal paayegi" Arjun said, His voice was soft and calm.
"thik hain, aap location bhejo, main aap logo ko lene aata hoon" Ayush said.
"or haan, ghar pe kisi ko kuch pata to nahi chala na?" Arjun asked curiously
"nahi-nahi mene bahana bana diya tha" Ayush said.
"thik hain, tu jaldi se aaja" Arjun ordered him.
Ayush nodded. And left from the house in his car.
Arjun shared his location with Ayush. He returned the phone to the owner with a gentle smile.
Arjun was checking his wallet in his pocket, but the pocket was empty. He raised his eyebrows.
"oh shit! wallet to car mein hi reh gaya "
Nandini came out of the washroom and saw that he was not on the cot. She started looking for him here and there. She then saw that he was coming out from the direction of the kitchen.
"baat ho gayi kya Ayush se ?" she asked softly.
He replied promptly. "haan, vo aa raha hain hume lene"
"Accha hain, main waise bhi or paidal nahi chal patti, chal-chalke mere pair dard karne lag gaye" she said joyfully, dramatically pain in her voice.
He smirked. "aao, baithate hain"
They went and sat on the cot (charpai).
The waiter brought their order and placed the plates on the table.
She looked at the food, rubbing her hands together, and a smile playing on his lips, seeing how excited she was.
"thank you, bhaiya" she said, sliding the plate towards herself, joy in her voice.
Waiter nodded with a gentle smile and left.
She started eating quickly. His gaze was continuously locked onto her. A strand of her hair was falling across her face, bothering her. He noticed this and gently brushed it away from her face.
She froze and stopped eating. Then, gazed up at him. Their gaze locked at each other.
Suddenly, they hear people's voices; They shivered , she lowered her gaze while he started looking around. There was a little bit silence and awkwardness in this moment.
Her gaze fell on his plate. His plate was still completely full. He hadn't even started eating.
"tum kuch kha kyu nahi rahe?"
"nahi, kha raha hoon na mein" he said and started eating.
She gazed at him. His gaze suddenly fell upon him.
She immediately lowered her eyes and started eating her food.
They finished eating. Both of them reached for the washbasin to wash their hands. They washed their hands.
"tum chalo, main washroom jaakar aata hoon" he said softly.
She nodded in agreement "theek hain" and left.
She was just about to go towards her cot when the dhaba owner's wife stopped her.
"suno beta jii..." she stopped her gently.
Nandini stopped and turned her gaze towards her "jii"
"ye lo" She had a watch in his hand, which she held out towards Nandini. The watch looked very expensive.
"ye..... " Nandini said, confusion in his voice.
"tere pati ki hain, uske pass paise nahi the isliye usne apne haath se ye ghadi utarkar de di, lekin ye bohot mehangi lag rahi hai, isliye lena thik nahi lag raha, tu ye usse wapas de dena" Owner's wife explained her with smiling.
"jii....vo mera pati nahi hain. humari shaadi nahi hui hain" she said hesitantly.
"Accha? maaf karna kudiye, mene galat samajh liya shayad" The owner's wife gently apologized.
"lekin aapke paise?" she asked gently.
"Oo koi gal nahi, aap log humare bacche jaise hi ho, or waise bhi jaroorat ke waqt to madad karni hi chahiye aaj humne aapki madad ki hain kal koi humari karega" Owner's wife replied humbly with a wide smile on her lips.
"waise mera hak to nahi hain phir bhi ek baat bolna chahungi?" Owner's wife said softly.
"jii" she said softly, a slight smile on her lips.
"vo ladka na tujhse bohot pyaar karta hain, uski aankho mein dikhta hain, use kabhi kudhse dur mat jaane dena, kahi aisa na ho baad mein pachtana pade" The Owner's wife lovingly advice to Nandini.
After saying this, the owner's wife left from there.
She looked up at the watch. She smiled faintly. He was coming towards her from the opposite direction, and her gaze fell upon him, emotions brimming in her eyes, and she started recalling the things the owner's wife had told her.
She hid the watch behind her back in her fist before he could see it.
"yaha kya kar rahi ho?" He said gently, his eyes furrowed.
"nahi to ...kuch nahi " she said hesitantly
"chalo, Ayush aata hi hoga"
Nandini nodded.
Ayush arrived at the dhaba (eatery). He looked around and spotted Arjun and Nandini. He walked towards them. They noticed him.
He came to them and hugged Arjun tightly. "bhai"
"aap dono thik hain na?" Ayush said, his voice filled with concern.
"haan, hum thik hain" Arjun placed his hand on Ayush's arm and calmed him down.
Ayush smiled when he saw Nandini, and she smiled back at him.
"chalo , nikalte hain yaha se" Arjun said.
Ayush and Nandini nodded.
They got into the car and left for home. They arrived home after some time. They got out of the car. Ayush parked the car.
Nandini and Arjun gazed at each other.
"mujhe chalna chahiye" she said sweetly, a small smile on her lips.
He nodded. "good might"
"good night" he said and turned.
she started walking towards her house, and as she walked, she kept looking back at him. As soon as he gazed at her, she turned her head forward and walked away.
He watched her from behind as she walked away
Ayush came to Arjun, and put his arm around his shoulder with a smile.
Arjun gazed at Ayush and smiled back.
Nandini reached her room and immediately lay down on the bed and breathed a sigh of relief. She then picked up Arjun's watch and started looking at it.
"kya usne sach mein locket fek diya?" she thought to herself.
Suddenly, Khushi stirred, she got scared and quickly hid the watch under the pillow and pretended to be asleep.
Arjun and Ayush arrived in Arjun's room. As soon as Arjun entered, they relaxed and lay down on the bed, their feet on the floor and their hands under their head, a slight smile on Arjun's face.
"sorry yaar bhai, meri wajah aap dono iss problem mein fas gaye" Ayush apologized .
"nahi, tu kyo sorry bol raha hai" he replied, his tone calm.
"waise, batao na baat kaha tak pahunchi" Ayush lifted his head, his head resting on his hand, turned towards Arjun, gazed at him, and asked, a excitement and curiosity in his voice.
Arjun took a deep sigh.
"abhi to kuch nahi hua, lekin tu dekhna bohot jald hoga" he sat up and said confidently.
"Ooh bhai! lagta hain kuch jyada hi accha time spend kiya hai bhabhi ke saath" Ayush also sat up and placed his hand around his shoulder and said enthusiastically in a teasing manner.
Arjun blushed intensely.
Ragini was standing outside their door, listening to their conversation. Her face was red with anger, clenching her fist, jaw tightened, she left from there.
Rajini was pacing around Living Hall in anger.
"ye ladki ab had se aage badh rahi hai ,isse pehle ki vo Arjun ko puri tarah se apne vash mein kar le hume kuch karna hoga"
Ragini thought , clenched her fist, anger filling her eyes.
